Founder/Director 
 
Richard  Cooper, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the principal organization, the Center for Alternative Learning, located in Havertown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cooper earned his doctorate in education at the University of Pittsburgh and his master's degree in guidance and counseling from InterAmerican University in Puerto Rico. Richard Cooper is also the owner of Learning disAbilities Resources, a firm which produces and distributes educational and motivational materials for individuals with learning differences. He established these organizations to provide services for individuals with learning disabilities and their families, teachers, and other professionals interested in learning problems. Dr. Cooper consults and conducts workshops and seminars privately across the United States and is internationally known as a speaker and instructor on a wide range of topics about learning problems and techniques for helping both children and adults to improve their skills.
    
Diagnostician/Clinician
 
Anne Schauman, the organization's registered agent in Wisconsin, has a Masters of Science in Education (learning disabilities emphasis) and 20-years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults with learning differences. Ms. Schauman conducts diagnostic evaluations and provides treatment services to individuals of all ages. She has worked with individuals with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, non-verbal learning disorders, traumatic brain injury, Asperger’s syndrome, and ADHD. In addition to working with ACE, Ms. Schauman teaches Student Achievement in Reading (STAR) classes at Fox Valley Technical College.
 
 Clinician
 
An independent contractor for the Alternative Center for Education, John Erchul has extensive experience as an adult educator and a commitment to literacy for all ages. He completed his PhD in Educational Technology at Arizona State University and taught at ASU and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. After his academic career he was a program director at the Literacy Council in Appleton, Wisconsin for six years. John is trained in the Orton-Gillingham reading system. He is committed to providing the best services possible for clients with life and learning challenges.
 
Clinician
 
Caroline Koskinen's background is in special education and reading. She has a Masters in Education with a reading concentration and Reading Specialist endorsement from the University of Virgina. She tutored independently and at a private school the last three years in Virginia before coming to Wisconsin. Caroline is proficient in the Wilson Reading Program, an Orton-Gillingham based reading system.
